Boat / Kayak / Paddle Board Rentals
Two kayaks and life jackets are provided at Lakefront Escape for guests. The following marinas rent equipment:

Greenwood Lake is a tremendous fishing destination. Fishing licenses can be purchased online, by phone, or at an issuing agent. The closest issuing agent is the Warwick Town Hall on Kings Highway.

Breezy Point is right next door to Lakefront Escape. They offer German fare and American selections. Good food, large outdoor dining deck, and a 30 second walk next door. The Appalachian Trail (AT) runs behind Lakefront Escape on the top of the ridge. You can access the AT from the Vista [connector] Trail on Elm St in the village but we'd recommend driving up 17A toward warwick and picking up the trail at Bud's Hot Dog Stand. A three mile hike south will have you to the lookout over Greenwood Lake and there is a loop that will take you back to your vehicle (See NYNJ Trail Conference Link).

Masker Orchard (Warwick)

Hickory Hill is a public golf course 10 minutes from Lakefront Escape in Warwick Park. Enjoy an affordable round of golf at a nice course operated by Orange County.
Mt Peter Family Ski Area (Winter)
Originally opened in 1936 as a showcase for Macy's ski apparel, the ski area occupies the mountains northern slope and features 7 ski runs served by 4 double chairlifts and a tow rope. The mountain continues operations today as the oldest operating ski area in New York and one of the only family ski areas in the region. The resort also features a full base lodge complete with cafeteria, bar and rental facilities along with a shop. Mountain Creek is a ski resort and water park in Vernon Township, NJ on Route 94. Three grocery options closest to Lakefront Escape are:
- The Country Grocery, 1 mile down Jersey Ave, in the village at 710 Jersey Avenue is a small convenience market with a limited selection. After being closed for more than a year, it is very nice to have the Country Grocery back. See Map
- Price Chopper is 9 miles away at 142 Hwy 94 in Warwick. It is a modern, clean, full size grocery store. See Map
- Shop Rite is 7 miles away 23 Marshall Hill Rd in West Milford. The store is dated but large and plenty of selection. See Map
Getting To Lakefront Escape
Driving from NYC / Northern New Jersey – From 287, take the Sykline Dr exit #57 and go north. When Skyline Dr ends, turn right on the Greenwood Lake Turnpike. After passing the south shore of Greenwood Lake, turn right on Lakeside Rd at the Mobil gas station. Stay on Lakeside Rd until it turns into Jersey Ave and you cross into New York. Lakefront Escape is on the right, just before Breezy Point Inn. [As an alternative to Skyline Dr, you can take Exit 55 from 287 to come up Ringwood Ave – see Google Maps]
From Upstate New York – Take Rt 17 south from Harriman to Rt 17A. Turn right on 17A and follow it through the Sterling Forrest. When you reach the Village of Greenwood Lake, turn left on Windemere Ave. Go through the Village and turn right at Jersey Ave (the only traffic light in the village). Follow Jersey Ave until you see the Breezy Point Inn sign on the left- we are the next house, also on the left.
By NJ Transit Bus (197/196) - The 197 and 196 buses from Port Authority Bus Terminal on 42nd St & 8th Ave in NYC will take you to Greenwood Lake. Certain 197 buses last stop is Ringwood, so confirm that you are getting on a 197 that goes all the way to Warwick. The 197 bus is a longer ride at 1 hr 45 mins. The 196 bus is express at 1 hr 15 mins but only goes to the city on weekday mornings and back on weekday evenings. On either bus, when the on-board announcement reads "Cascade Rd", immediately after "Hemlock Hill", push the button to request a stop. The bus stops in front of the neighbors house and its just a few steps to 618 Jersey Ave next door. If you're taking the bus to the city, you can get picked up at Jersey Ave & Cascade Trail as well- you'll see a bus stop sign there and an asphalt platform and wave when you see the bus coming down the road to be certain they see you. By NJ Transit Train - The NJ Transit Tuxedo station is closest to the house at about a 20 minute drive. You will take any train from NY Penn Station that stops at Secaucus Junction and transfer to a Port Jervis line train to get to the Tuxedo station (See Rail System Map). Greenwood Lake Taxi and Night Owl Taxi provide rides from the Tuxedo station.
